With the release of his most recent EP, Sweet Boy, Ghanaian hitmaker Kuami Eugene begins a daring new chapter in his career as a totally independent artist.

Kwame Eugene’s eight-track body of work, which combines his distinctive Afropop style with more intimate and passionate topics, demonstrates his flexibility and artistic development. “Potomanto,” “Stranger,” “Makola,” “Save Me,” “Promise Me,” “I’m Hurt,” and the already popular “Adult Music” are some of the EP’s standout songs.

Further elevating the project are collaborations with Ghanaian songstress Gyakie and Nigerian singer Johnny Drille, adding both regional and cross-border appeal to the release. Speaking during an exclusive listening session, Kwame Eugene emphasized that Sweet Boy represents more than just a collection of songs—it symbolizes creative freedom and self-ownership.

“It’s been one and a half years after Lynx Entertainment, so I think this is the right time to put a piece out there about what I feel, and not what a company put together to represent the guy. This is the first time I’m doing a project that represents myself,” he shared.

The release signals a significant shift for the award-winning artist, who is now fully embracing independence after his time with Lynx Entertainment. The EP captures a more authentic perspective, allowing fans to connect with his artistry on a deeper level.

Kwame Eugene also revealed that Sweet Boy is just the beginning, hinting at an upcoming full-length album and a series of back-to-back releases planned for the near future. The launch event, filled with live performances and a celebration of his catalogue, reinforced his status as one of Ghana’s most consistent hitmakers—while setting the tone for an exciting, independent future.

With Sweetboy, Kwame Eugene reintroduces himself on his own terms, delivering a project that reflects growth, confidence, and a renewed artistic vision.
