Nigerian musician Ahmed Ololade, better known by his stage name Asake, has discussed how Lagos has affected his career and stated that the city was essential to his development.
After graduating from Obafemi Awolowo University in Ille-Ife, Asake moved to Lagos, where he claimed the metropolis helped him grow into a man.

The Sungba crooner claimed that several of his songs were influenced by Lagos in a recent interview with Spotify.

“I learned how to live like a man in Lagos.” “Most of my songs are inspired by Lagos,” he remarked.
The singer expressed his gratitude to God for the widespread recognition of his skill, pointing out that there are many more gifted artists than him who go unnoticed.

“I’m happy because there are a lot of people who make music out there and a lot of people who are more talented than me,” he remarked. I’m grateful to God for giving me the ability to use my gift both locally and internationally. I am really grateful to God for it.
