Kizz Daniel – Barnabas EP [Full Ep]
Kizz Daniel dropped Barnabas on 19 November 2021 and it was a statement. After King of Love gave us 17 tracks of full relationship drama, Kizz returned with a 7-track EP that flipped the script. He called it Barnabas which means “Son of Encouragement” in the Bible. That title set the tone. This wasn’t another love album. This was Kizz encouraging himself, encouraging fans, and showing growth. From 2020’s King of Love pain to 2021’s Barnabas power, Kizz moved from vulnerability to authority. He wasn’t just the boy crying on Aii anymore. He was a man with options, lessons, and confidence.
Barnabas is Afro-fusion with live band energy. Kizz recorded most of it with a live band and it shows. Guitars are warmer, drums hit cleaner, and everything feels more organic than the synth-heavy King of Love. The EP runs about 23 minutes but every track has weight. No filler. Kizz wrote, performed, and executive produced it through his label Flyboy INC. That independence matters because Barnabas sounds free. He’s not chasing trends. He’s setting them.
The story arc goes like this. Track 1 Decrown is Kizz taking his crown back from anyone who doubted him. Track 2 Pour Me Water is thirsty flirt energy. Track 3 Lie is heartbreak but grown, not bitter like Fvck You. Track 4 Eh Ya is street slang and enjoyment. Track 5 Gidi is Lagos pride and flex. Track 6 Addicted is obsession but controlled. Track 7 Burna closes with gratitude and thanks to God. Kizz moved from “crown me” to “thank God” in 7 songs. That’s maturity.
Vocally, Kizz is sharper here. His voice is deeper, more controlled, and he plays with melodies more. He mixes Yoruba, English, and Pidgin like a chef. Production from Reward Beatz, Philkeyz, Blaise Beatz, and Kizz himself gives the EP a live, timeless feel. No short-lived TikTok beat. These are songs that still sound fresh in 2026 because they were built on instruments, not just loops.
Barnabas gave us culture moments. “Pour Me Water” became a club and TikTok monster. “Lie” became the mature heartbreak song for people tired of drama. “Decrown” became anthem for anyone taking their power back. Kizz used the EP to remind people he’s not just hits, he’s artistry. He went from Flyboy to King, to Barnabas. Each era shows growth.
Barnabas is encouragement music with live instrumentation, sharper lyrics, and confident energy. Kizz chose growth over gimmicks and gave fans a short EP that hits long. That’s why it still replays in 2026.
