Omokomo by MohBad
Omokomo by MohBad
MohBad switches the vibe with Omokomo and it’s heavy. Track 4. Light EP. 2020. After Ponmo with Naira Marley and Lil Kesh, Imole goes solo again. The E tag means he’s not holding back.
Omokomo is MohBad in storyteller mode. The beat is slower, darker. Street pop with a melancholic piano loop and hard 808s. “Omokomo” is Yoruba slang for “that child” or “that kid”. But MohBad flips it. He’s talking about himself, the streets, and the people watching him.
This is 2020 Imole documenting the pressure. He’s the “omokomo” everybody has something to say about. Fake love, envy, prayers, curses. He hears it all. The record feels like a night drive through Lagos mainland. Moody but still bouncy. You can dance and reflect at the same time.
Coming after the chaos of Ponmo, Omokomo brings the EP back to introspection. It’s the calm in the storm. MohBad’s pen was sharp here. No chorus wasted. Every bar feels like a journal entry. This is why Light EP had range. Party tracks and pain tracks in one project.
In 2026, Omokomo hits different. “That child” grew up fast and left too soon. Fans hear prophecy in these bars now. MohBad was telling us who he was and what he faced. We just didn’t know how to decode it yet.
Quotation Lyrics
No features needed. Just Imole and the truth. If Sorry was the apology and Marlians Anthem was the war cry, Omokomo is the diary. Bigxmotion will update with full lyrics + breakdown as they drop.
