Reekado Banks is back. Worthy Challenger – EP. 2026. Lossless. Parental Advisory. The Mavin alum isn’t playing.

The cover says it all. Reekado sits ghosted out on a chair, red boots, surrounded by rocks in the sand. Fog everywhere. Can’t see his face. Parental Advisory sticker bottom center. This is war music. This is “I’m still here” music. Worthy Challenger means he’s ready for any opp, any comparison, any doubt.

2026 Reekado isn’t 2016 Reekado. After Spotlight, Ozumba Mbadiwe, and years of singles, he’s been quiet but watching. Worthy Challenger is his answer to the new generation. Katapillar, Easy Jeje, Rora — that was the old Reeky. This EP sounds like a man who left Mavin, built his own label, survived label politics, and still has hits in him.

Afrobeats tag on Apple Music, but expect range. Reekado does R&B, Alté, street pop, and pure Afropop. Parental Advisory means he’s not filtering for radio. If the cover is this dark, the lyrics won’t be daylight either.

Lossless rollout tells you he wants this respected. Not just a playlist drop. A statement project. In 2026, Reekado Banks is a vet. But vets get challenged. Hence the title. He’s telling the industry: line them up.

Blessed EP was MohBad’s goodbye. Worthy Challenger might be Reekado’s resurgence. Two different energies, same year. Bigxmotion will break down each track with lyrics, features, and meaning as they drop. Send the tracklist and we load them one by one.
