The O2 Arena Is Too Small For Shatta Wale – A-Plus Targets Wembley Stadium

Gomoa Central MP and SM Movement supporter Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus, says Shatta Wale is eyeing a bigger stage than London’s O2 Arena.

Speaking on `United Showbiz`, A-Plus explained that the O2 Arena cannot contain Shatta Wale’s fanbase. According to him, the venue is too small and could pose safety risks if the SM Movement tries to stage a show there.

“As for us, the 4Lyfe and SM Movement family, the reason we can’t hold a concert at the O2 is because that place is too small for us. If Shatta plays a concert at such a space, people might get hurt or even die because the crowd is too much,” he stated.

A-Plus revealed that the team is instead looking at securing Wembley Stadium or Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for a future UK concert. Wembley has a capacity of about 80,000.

“We are trying to see if they would give us Wembley. We would fill up Wembley Stadium, which has a capacity of about 80,000. That is where we want to play, or maybe Tottenham Stadium,” he added.

He believes hosting concerts of that magnitude will boost Ghana’s tourism and creative arts industry. It will also set a standard for other Ghanaian musicians to aim for global stages.

A-Plus also congratulated Stonebwoy for becoming the first Ghanaian artiste to headline OVO Arena Wembley with BHIM Festival. He urged other artistes to chase similar milestones.

However, he stressed that sponsorship and support are key for Ghanaian musicians who want to pull off big international shows.

“We would also congratulate Stonebwoy and urge all artistes to also try and do it. As we are saying all of this, support and sponsorship are also very important,” he said.
