Daddy Lumba sings Meredwene Meho on Playboy, he gets personal. Meredwene Meho means “I Think About Myself” in Twi. It’s not selfishness. It’s self-preservation.
Lumba is talking to people who give too much and get hurt too much. He’s saying “I’ve loved, I’ve trusted, I’ve sacrificed, and now I’m thinking about me.” The song is for anyone who’s been used, cheated, or taken for granted. After years of putting others first, Lumba is choosing his peace. No fights, no revenge. Just boundaries. In 2020 when everyone was rethinking their lives, this track felt like permission to rest.
The beat is slow, smooth highlife. Guitar that feels like late-night thoughts, bass that walks steady, and drums that don’t rush him. Lumba sings soft but firm, like a man who has cried before and decided to stop crying. When he repeats Meredwene Meho, it sounds like a vow. No auto-tune, no shouting. Just a legend speaking calm truth over a band that knows how to listen.
Ghanaians connected with Meredwene Meho because it’s a mood. Breakup victims, overworked employees, mothers who carried everyone — they all heard it and said “same.” Lumba didn’t tell people to be bitter. He told them to be wise. The line became a caption for self-care posts, status updates, and quiet decisions to walk away.
Meredwene Meho adds depth to Playboy. After Makra Mo’s swag and Bribi Gyegye Wo’s warning, Lumba shows the soft side. Confidence isn’t just dressing sharp. Sometimes it’s choosing yourself. Highlife with therapy.
