Kofi Kinaata – Auntie Ama
Kofi Kinaata – Auntie Ama MP3 Download
Ghanaian musician Kofi Kinaata sat down and wrote a letter. Not to a lover. Not to a hater. To “Auntie Ama”.
In Takoradi, every street has an Auntie Ama — the woman who sells you gari when money is short, who warns you when you’re walking wrong, who prays for you even when you don’t deserve it. She’s the mother-figure for a whole community.
Kofi wrote this song for her in 2024. No flex, no big chorus to chase TikTok. Just gratitude in Fante proverbs and guitar. He tells Auntie Ama thank you for the advice, for the scoldings, for the food, for believing in boys who had nothing. He admits he was stubborn, but she never gave up on him.
Auntie Ama is Ghanaian musician Kofi Kinaata reminding Ghana that success means nothing if you forget the women who raised you. It’s a thank-you note set to highlife, made for every son and daughter to play for their own “Auntie Ama”.
