Samankwe by Reekado Banks
Samankwe by Reekado Banks
Reekado Banks kicks off Worthy Challenger EP with Samankwe. Track 1. 2026. E tag. No features. Just Reeky setting the tone.
Samankwe is Igbo. It means “I know myself” or “I’m aware.” Reekado isn’t introducing himself to you. He’s reintroducing himself to himself. After years of label moves, industry silence, and new gen Afrobeats, Track 1 is him saying: I sabi who I be. Worthy Challenger.
The E tag is loud. Reekado can do clean pop. He chose not to here. Samankwe is raw. The cover had him ghosted in fog with red boots. This track is the voice in that fog. Dark, deliberate, confident. No chasing TikTok. This is for the ones who thought he fell off.
Opening track energy matters. Beast & Peace told you MohBad’s duality. Samankwe tells you Reekado’s self-awareness. He knows his catalog. He knows his pen. He knows the challengers. Samankwe is the sound of a vet stretching before a fight.
In 2026, Reekado Banks needs this record. The game moved. Rema, Asake, Seyi Vibez, Odumodublvck — new kings everywhere. Samankwe is him planting his flag again. “I know myself” means “I know I still got it.” Parental Advisory because the truth isn’t PG.
No features yet. Solo mission. If Worthy Challenger is war, Samankwe is the war cry. Bigxmotion will update with full lyrics + line-by-line breakdown as they drop.
