Empress Gifty Defends Florence Obinim Over BBL Rumours

Gospel musician Empress Gifty has defended fellow gospel musician Florence Obinim following speculations that she underwent a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL).

According to Empress Gifty, she is disappointed in social media users who have been criticising Florence Obinim over her appearance at a recent programme.

In a video shared on social media on November 1, 2026, Empress Gifty questioned whether those making negative comments about Florence Obinim even have the courage to go through surgery themselves.

She expressed particular disappointment that some of the harsh comments came from women, considering the risks and fear that come with surgical procedures.

Empress Gifty explained that entering a theatre for any procedure is not an easy experience, noting that it comes with anxiety and panic. She said people who have undergone surgery or given birth through theatre understand how scary it can be.

She added that the public should not project their personal frustrations onto celebrities, stressing that celebrities also deal with their own challenges and are not responsible for the happiness of others.

The gospel musician further stated that people should be allowed to spend their money the way they want without being ridiculed. She revealed that she had booked an appointment for another dental procedure and disclosed that while her initial treatment cost $1,200, the new one will cost about $8,000 because she wants to be able to chew meat properly.

According to her, just as some people use their money to buy dresses, gold jewellery or cement, others may choose to use theirs for body enhancement, and they should be allowed to do so.

Empress Gifty also disclosed that she had reduced her breast size in the past. She said when she was known for having a bigger bust, she later decided to make it smaller and did research to ensure her skin remained firm after losing weight so she would not experience sagging.

She noted that she made the decision because she could afford it and wanted to look beautiful, but people are quick to label them as artificial.

She advised anyone considering cosmetic surgery to do thorough research, consult professionals with proper knowledge, and go for counselling to understand the risks, dos and donts before making a final decision.
