Burna Boy Announces ‘No Sign of Weakness’ Album and Stadium Tour Dates – Nigeria
The project follows 2024’s I Told Them and marks a shift toward live instrumentation and Pan-African sounds. Burna’s team says the album was recorded between Lagos, Accra, and London, with contributions from Fela Kuti’s former band Egypt 80, South African producer Kabza De Small, and Nigerian drummer Tony Allen’s estate. Features include Angélique Kidjo, Rema, and a posthumous collaboration with Tony Allen. Early previews suggest a blend of Afrobeats, highlife, jazz, and reggae, with lyrics focused on resilience, legacy, and African identity.
The No Sign of Weakness stadium tour kicks off August 9 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, followed by dates in Paris, Amsterdam, Accra, Johannesburg, and Lagos. The Accra show at Accra Sports Stadium on September 6 and the Lagos finale at Eko Atlantic Stadium on December 28 are already being called the biggest concerts of the year for West Africa. Pre-sales for London and Paris sold out in 4 hours, with general sales opening June 6.
Burna has been low-key since his 2025 Grammy win for Best African Music Performance, focusing on studio work and his Spaceship Foundation. He made a surprise appearance at Coachella in April with Wizkid, reigniting talk of a joint project, but No Sign of Weakness confirms he’s running his own lane first. The album is expected to be his most politically charged yet, with tracks reportedly addressing youth unemployment, Pan-African unity, and cultural preservation.
The rollout includes a documentary series with Apple Music, premiering July 18, that follows the making of the album across three countries. Merch bundles and vinyl pre-orders are live, with limited edition pressings featuring artwork by Nigerian artist Laolu Senbanjo.
For Burna, this is about cementing his status as Africa’s biggest live act while pushing the sound forward. After headlining Coachella and selling out Madison Square Garden twice, the stadium tour is the next logical step. If the early buzz holds, No Sign of Weakness could be his most cohesive project since African Giant.
