Stonebwoy Says $1 Million Can’t Make Him Do A Song With Shatta Wale
The Stonebwoy vs Shatta Wale conversation is back, and this time it’s about money, pride, and principles.
During a TikTok live interview with host Darlington, Stonebwoy was asked a direct question: would he accept $1 million to do a song with Shatta Wale? His answer was immediate and firm.
“A million dollars is too small for me to collaborate with Shatta Wale on a song.”
The clip was reposted by Ghana Najja TV and picked up by X user @_khendrick, who captioned it: _”Stonebwoy say if them even give am a million dollars sef he no go do song olus shatta wale..the thing be that deep like that ei”_

The comment has since gone viral across TikTok, X, and Facebook.
In 2026, conversations about unity in Ghana music keep coming up. Fans, bloggers, and even brands have suggested a Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale collaboration would be a historic moment. It would be two of Ghana’s biggest dancehall exports on one record. The streaming numbers, the headlines, the global attention it would be massive.
So when Darlington asked about a $1M offer, he was testing where Stonebwoy stands in 2026. The answer made it clear: this isn’t about business anymore.
To understand why Stonebwoy said that, you have to go back to May 2019. Both artists were nominated for Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. Tensions were already high.
When Stonebwoy’s name was called, he walked to the stage. Shatta Wale and his team also moved toward the stage. What happened next became one of the most talked about moments in Ghana music history Stonebwoy pulled out a gun on live TV, chaos erupted, and both artists were arrested.
The VGMA board stripped them of their awards, banned them, and Ghana’s music industry watched two giants go to war in public.
Since then, there have been moments of peace. Apologies. Even mutual respect from a distance. But a collaboration has never happened. The wound from 2019 still runs deep.
Online reaction has been mixed.
Some fans support Stonebwoy’s stance. To them, it’s about self-respect. You can’t put a price on peace of mind and history. If the relationship is broken, no check can fix it.
Other fans are frustrated. They argue that music is bigger than personal issues. A $1 million collaboration would put Ghana on the global map, create jobs, and give fans the song they’ve waited years for. “Do it for the culture,” many commented.
Stonebwoy’s words show that the feud is no longer just about music. It’s about legacy, ego, and how both artists see themselves. For Stonebwoy, the cost of collaborating is higher than $1 million. For Shatta Wale, who is yet to respond, the ball is now in his court.
Whether this sparks another round of back-and-forth or finally closes the door on a collab, one thing is clear: Ghana is still watching.
Bigxmotion will update with any response from Shatta Wale or new developments.
