Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng, who handles public relations for Stonebwoy, has publicly criticized Sarkodie following his reaction to criticism over a video linked to amputees.

Her comments came during an appearance on Class FM with DJ Slim on October 26, 2026, where she addressed the ongoing debate around the clip and Sarkodie’s defense of it.

According to Vida, she initially tried to understand Sarkodie’s perspective, noting that people who have not experienced disability firsthand may not immediately grasp the implications of certain actions or jokes. However, she said the rapper’s follow-up response was what concerned her most.

She expressed strong disapproval after Sarkodie suggested in a separate interview with Serwaa Amihere that he would share the same video again if he had the chance. Vida described that position as insensitive and unnecessary.

Vida argued that the conversation should have centered on empathy, especially considering the daily challenges persons with disabilities face in Ghana. She said many event venues across the country are not accessible and that persons with disabilities continue to deal with stigma.

She pointed to the Ghana national amputee football team, the Black Challenge, as an example. She said many Ghanaians are not even aware the team exists and that its players struggle for recognition compared to other national teams like the Black Stars.

Vida said Stonebwoy has consistently used his platform to highlight these issues. She explained that at his concerts, specific arrangements are made to ensure wheelchair users and other persons with disabilities can attend and enjoy the show comfortably.

She added that the lesson goes beyond entertainment, noting that disability can affect anyone at any time due to accidents or other life events, and therefore public figures should be more mindful of their influence.

In her view, Sarkodie had an opportunity to de-escalate the situation by acknowledging that his post may have offended some people. Instead, she said, he doubled down and insisted that no one could control what he shares on his own social media.

Vida believes a simple apology or assurance that he would be more careful in future would have been a better approach.
